An August Oasis
I won't say a lot here, other than to remind you that in mid-May, my deck was complete chaos (see below). Now it is a most pleasant place to have a snack, read a book or just enjoy the bumblebees, butterflies and hummingbirds. (Enlarge picture above by clicking on it). I don't have a gnome, but I do have a plastic owl named Olivia who was pressed into service to ward off some aggressive birds but I retired her after one day finding a bird perched on her head.

Your garden is absolutely beautiful. So glad I found someone who has a similar deck garden, I'm going to add you to my Blogroll.

ReplyDeletePlanting time is always so messy. Doesn't everyone's deck look like that in May? Even with a yard - the deck is so handy to everything including a chair to take a break in. Mine was always a growing space for seeds and cuttings. This only left clear a path from the door to the stairs in spring. It helps if you have a patio too to give up the deck.
Your potted jungle is wonderful! You definitely have a green thumb going on.

That is too funny that your owl had to be retired. I guess Olivia was asleep at the wheel. I cracked up when I read that. Maybe an eagle or a hawk might be more intimidating.
